CTE | Career & Technology Education
One of our main programs is the CTE program.
Career in Technology Education (CTE) is a 8 semester program that gives students the option to pursue the technological subject of their choice.
In this program, the students think creatively and like entrepreneurs. They create products, or solutions and learn how to visualize them and most importantly, they learn to how to pitch & present their ideas with confidence to NYC investor companies and organizations.
How do you get your CTE Endorsement at BETA?
BETA CTE Sequence:
9th Grade: Career and Financial Management
10th Grade: Digital Electronics
11th Grade: Architecture and Civil Engineering
12th Grade: Engineering and Design
Students in Grades 9 through 12 must complete Work-based learning hours.
Students in Grade 12 must pass Technical Assessment
Students in Grades 9 through 12 will have compiled Student Portfolio
Work based opportunities available at BETA involve:
Job Shadowing, Internships, Mentoring Programs and Pilot Program Projects (ACE).
BETA High School Partners include BUILD, ACE and SYEP.
What is ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY?
ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY is a free after-school mentorship program for high school students interested in architecture, engineering, and construction.
The 2024-25 ACE GNY season will begin virtually, making it easy to participate!
Students join teams led by professionals in the design and construction industry. During team meetings, students will learn more about core principles of the industry, use design software, gain communication and technical skills, and go on virtual construction site tours! ACE GNY will also hold webinars on applying for scholarships, essay writing, networking and college prep.
ACE GNY is designed for everyone - students with and without prior knowledge of the design and construction industry.
